Betsy McCall Doll Town And Country Outfit #842 1957 8" Vintage Original Box. This is original Betsy from 1957 and is a hard to find outfit. This listing is for the Dress, Coat, Tam Hat, and original box. The panties and shoes are missing. Its all original. Shown on a betsy she is NOT included I just wanted to give you an idea of how the outfit will display. Please read full description.
Details: No holes or tears on any of the pieces. Working snaps on dress. Tam Hat elastic still good(has life not brittle) has some minor stretch out. Felt parts on all pieces have fiber thread pick up from the cotton part of the outfit since it was kept together. On the coat felt minor piling on the felt and some aging. Coat has minor small age stains mostly on the back bottom shown in the close ups. The bias white trims have some age soil spots stains which does have happen from age. Dress has some aging soil on the white not super dingy but not bright either it is in between. Minor soil stains. The White near the red trim in areas has some minor red dye pick up from rubbing on the red see picture #6 it is shown in a close up. That happens with the red dye of the 50s its very hard to prevent that from happening especially when the trim touches the white. Its not super bright red spots more like a light red. Box is damaged.
The box is missing its flaps(one is included loose with the outfit name), has some edge tears, some bends/crushes, some soil and some aging shown in the photos. The inner gold insert metal parts are rusted and have patina. There is some tears on the insert. Clear plastic is pushed out and has red dye pick up. The outfit needs a slight pressing it does have some wrinkles. Not a mint outfit but it is displayable as shown. The outfit has not been cleaned or repaired. Pictures are taken in natural light I find it being closest to viewing it in person.
